Juniper Rag, V.2

October 2021

JUNIPER RAG is an independent visual art and lifestyle magazine, founded by Atelier ID Global. Michelle May and Payal Thiffault founded the design agency in 2017.

Juniper Rag’s mission is to showcase significant work and exceptional creatives to deepen their relationship with viewers and to simultaneously offer up a curated collection of art for those who love to collect or consider original art for interior design. Juniper Rag celebrates creative business and lifestyle, as well as curate some of the most sought after contemporary visual arts. Juniper Rag features Visual Art & Design, Photography, Fashion, Music, Technology, Travel and Lifestyle profiles--all facets that relate to building a creative culture. A curated selection of artists is the highlight of each issue, chosen on merit by a an industry professional. A different guest curator is invited for each issue. Juniper Rag publishes quarterly.

Marjorie Rawle is an emerging curator based in the Greater Boston area and is currently the Terrana Assistant Curator at the Fitchburg Art Museum (FAM). At FAM, she has worked on exhibitions such as Daniela Rivera: Labored Landscapes (where hand meets ground), After Spiritualism: Loss and Transcendence in Contemporary Art, and The BIG Picture: Giant Photographs and Powerful Portfolios, currently on view. She earned her MA in art history from Tulane University in 2019, with a focus in Post-war American art, and earned her BA in art history from the College of Charleston in 2016. Marjorie has held curatorial, editorial, and nonprofit management positions in New Orleans, LA at the New Orleans Museum of Art, Antenna Gallery, and Pelican Bomb, and in Charleston, SC at Redux Contemporary Art Center, Art Mag, and Robert Lange Studios.

With careful and thoughtful custodial responsibility, Marjorie Rawle has selected a diverse collection of artwork. Timely and powerful works are included in this selection as well as work that brings meaning with pop-cultural relevance. It is clear that she is creating a strong foothold and paying close attention to the heartbeat of the art world in central Massachusetts. Like a museum show, the artwork is chosen based on merit, importance, execution and presentation. We hope you have a slow and thoughtful experience with the work she has chosen filtered through her intellect, perspectives and interpretations.
